We are proud to announce that Mr Parkinson has been shortlisted as a Finalist for Headteacher of the Year in a Primary School in The Pearson National Teaching Awards.
The Pearson National Teaching Awards is an annual celebration of exceptional teachers, and recognises the life-changing impact an inspirational teacher can have on the lives of young people.
This well-deserved recognition is a celebration of how Mr Parkinson continually goes above and beyond for his pupils, staff, and community. The turnaround in the school’s fortunes has been transformational under James’ leadership and the school culture, climate, parental engagement and pupil outcomes tell a remarkably different story than in 2018. Key Stage 2 combined outcomes now sit in the top 13% of providers nationally and the school’s 2024 Ofsted inspection resulted in Outstanding judgements in every category – a significant improvement from Requires Improvement in 2019.
We will be celebrating James and all our colleagues on National Thank a Teacher Day (18th June) when the results will be announced.
Mr Parkinson, we wish you all the best and couldn’t be more pleased for you!
